Ziua Independentei…

august 27, 2008

Ma treceau fiorii atunci cind Stefan vorbea in fata ostilor si ii indemna sa apere tara de cotropirea otomana. Si a reusit! Cu mii de morti, insa a invins! A crezut in victorie, nu a acceptat sa fie calcat in picioare, nici el, nici pamintul, nici oamenii pe care-i conducea.

Atit.

Ce-a ramas din aceasta natiune? Suntem oare o natiune? Ce suntem noi? In ce credem noi?

I like Jurga

august 4, 2008

I discovered Jurga during the Bjork concert. She played at the opening of the grand show. Jurga was so elegant, so strong and so feminine. The public was singing together with her and you could feel their love for Jurga. Lithuanian seemed to be sweeter and people warmer. I was impressed and I started to look for who she is. I was lucky to receive as a present a CD with Jurga from my very good Lithuanian friends. Thus, my travel back home was filled with good music and memories about Lithuania. I will always keep in my heart these great days in Lithuania with good friends, lakes and rivers, forests and parks, a very good, easy and free life.

Strangely or not, but at the end of my experience in Lithuania I started to like more and more the food, weather, landscapes, people and in the end this sincere and tender music.

If I would be able to write poems and sing songs to show my love and gratitude for this amazing country, I would do it through Jurga’s songs.

Here are two of my favorite, heart-touching songs.
